SHL-5 Container Flat

The SHL-5 container flats were delivered in two batches from 1976-1977 and 1979-1980. They were air braked only (so don't put them behind a steam loco!). These are very interesting wagons in that they only have small decks either end of the wagons, otherwise they are open with the majority of the longitudinal and transverse girders exposed, as well as the brake reservoir, ram, triple valve enclosure, linkages and handbrake gearbox exposed. Our model faithfully depicts these details, and thus can be run empty without sacrificing realism. They could transport 10, 20 and 40 foot containers

Our model accepts the locating lugs of most manufacturers container models (Walthers, etc.), and is supplied with bogies, wheels, couplers and brake wheels. It is available in both 12mm and 16.5mm gauge
