The first of the "Jumbo" tankers, the XPJ-14 fuel tankers entered service in 1969 as the XPD-14. In 1982 they were reclassified as XPJ-14. They are still in use today. They are used to transport petrol, jet fuel or diesel.

At some stage, Spoornet started removing two vacuum reservoirs and two brake pistons per wagon, leaving a single brake reservoir per side, and a single piston at each end. This work hasn't been completed, and still today both types of brake arrangement can still be seen in service. We model both arrangements as "Early" and Late"

This model features vacuum hoses and through pipes, ladders and brake equipment.

Couplers, bogies, wheels, brake wheels, coupler pocket covers and screws are included. All you need is paint, decals and 0.6mm rod for the grab irons
