SMLJ-18 Container Flat

Originally in service in 1987 as the SMLJ-4 and later reclassified, the SMLJ-18 container flats were based on a similar frame as the SHL-5 wagons, but there were many differences. They were vacuum and air braked, had a fully enclosed platform and were fitted with Keystone Centre Sill hydraulic buffing equipment on the drawgear with 508mm of travel. They could transport 5, 10, 20 and 40 foot containers

Our model accepts the locating lugs of most manufacturers container models (Walthers, etc.), and is supplied with bogies, wheels, couplers and brake wheels. It is available in both 12mm and 16.5mm gauge
