SAR H-2 Third Class Passenger Carriage

Between 1971 and 1973 the SAR placed the H-2 third class carriages into service. They were open plan and seating only with one window per seating bay. They had four toilet cubicles, two at each end of the carriage. They initially ran on reclaimed Day bogies as delivered to save on costs, and were retrofitted with Commonwealth bogies as these became available from other scrapped mainline stock

Supplied unpainted, but with a detailed interior with separately applied compartment doors, bunks and seat backrests so the modeller can customise the model as they wish. Bogies, wheels, brake wheels, couplers and screws are included. The model also features accurate underframe equipment and accurate roof vent spacing and arrangement.
